Mount Vinson is the highest peak in Antarctica, at 16,050 ft. It lies in the north part of Vinson Massif’s summit plateau. It was first climbed in 1966. An expedition in 2001 was the first to climb via the Eastern route, and also took GPS measurements of the height of the peak. As of February 2010, only 1,400 climbers have attempted to reach the top of Mount Vinson. The RadHope climbers set off in December 2016 to reach the peak. After several days of fighting severe winds, freezing temperatures, and just plain arctic conditions, they made it to the top of Mount Vinson! There they waved the prayer flags in your honor! This is the sixth of the seven summits that the prayer flags have reached, one to go!
