According to Tom Ladd, our Executive Director:
While 60-70 percent of U.S. cancer patients receive radiation therapy as part of their treatment, most people in developing countries don’t have access to this life-saving care, largely due to limited access to radiation equipment. Radiating Hope is committed to ensuring that there is at least one radiation therapy device for every 100,000-200,000 people – the current standard in the United States – in developing countries. This generous donation will help to further our efforts to meet this goal in Nepal, and we thank Elekta for their support.
