Meet the Amazing Greg Telesco
Radiating Hope was invited, by the IAEA, (international atomic energy agency), to participate as a panelist for the World Cancer Leader's Summit, which is an annual high-level policy meeting dedicated to further global cancer control. The meeting brings together all of the key decision makers related to cancer care globally.
The IAEA, the group that oversees radiation globally, has asked that we be on one of the key panels and give an overview of our nonprofit. This was an honor and duty we were able to fulfill. Dr. Shilpen Patel from the Radiating Hope board of directors attended this meeting as our representative. The meeting was a great success!
RadHope Society in Thailand
Radiating Hope Society members, David Gaffney, Brandon Fisher and Tom Ladd, participated with world leaders in Radiation Oncology at the Cervical Cancer Research Network (CCRN) conference in Thailand. The CCRN (which Dr. Gaffney founded) promotes clinical trials in cervical cancer. These trials are setup to save thousands and thousands of lives. In attendance were world leaders from Thailand, USA, Taiwan, Japan, China, Brazil, Philippines, VietNam, Burma, India, etc. It was inspiring and humbling to see the efforts of these doctors in the fight against cervical cancer.
Global Health Catalyst Summit
Radiating Hope was asked to speak at the Global Health Catalyst Cancer Summit @ Harvard Medical School. This summit is one of the hardest to get to and one we have been climbing for the last 5 years. Nathan Tonlaar MD, project director of our Ghana effort, represented Radiating Hope, presenting the role of radiation oncology in developing countries.
RadHope ACRO 5K
Radiating Hope has hosted a 5K race at the American College of Radiation Oncology (ACRO) annual meeting for the last 5 years. The race has been a huge success, raising thousands to support cancer care in developing countries. Several participants have run in honor of cancer patients, carrying Radiating Hope Tibetan prayers flags in their honor.

A Thought from the Poet Kahlil Gibran
"You may have heard of the Blessed Mountain. It is the highest mountain in our world. Should you reach the summit you would have only one desire, and that to descend and be with those who dwell in the deepest valley. That is why it is called the Blessed Mountain. Every thought I have imprisoned in expression I must free by my deeds".
December 28th, 2008
In honor of one of the great pioneers in radiation history, Madame Curie, I thought it would only be fitting to share an overview of her contribution to the world and the future of cancer care.
Rocky | The Indomitable Man
Many of us living in Philly are very familiar with the Rocky statue at the Art Museum. There are oftentimes very long lines to see the statue.
When people come to Philly there are a few things that they love to see: Independence hall, the Liberty Bell, and the Rocky statue. They run up the stairs of the art museum, then once at the top, jump up and down with their arms thrown in the air in a victorious salute!
Why would the Rocky statue be on the list?
Why the long line?
